Sea views, celebration, and connection, Caldes d’Estrac set the scene for Arbolus’s summer retreat
Overview
Arbolus, a global fast-growing tech company, trusted Wepleia to design a full retreat for 80 people with the goal of celebrating, reconnecting, and recharging after months of rapid expansion. The event took place in a stunning seaside venue in Maresme, near Barcelona, carefully tailored to match the team’s energy and style.
The Offsite
Arbolus wanted a two-day, one-night themed offsite for 80 people, something fresh, different, and with personality. After exploring several options that didn’t quite fit, Wepleia found the perfect venue: a highly versatile seaside space in El Maresme, north of Barcelona, not a traditional hotel, which meant we had the freedom to design and build the entire experience from scratch.
The theme chosen was Amalfi Coast, not a fully immersive décor-heavy concept, but a subtle, elegant thread running through the whole event: touches of colour, styling details, and small curated elements that created a cohesive atmosphere without feeling forced.
Our team transformed the venue and designed a full two-day flow. The program included a morning team-building activity, a sunset cocktail overlooking the sea, a vibrant pool party, and a banquet-style dinner with music late into the night. The next morning, the group enjoyed a relaxed departure after a full day and evening of celebration.
The challenge was adapting a brand-new, still-evolving venue to host a large group with a complex program, ensuring it felt effortless, comfortable, and aligned with Arbolus’s vision. The result was a seamless offsite that combined creativity, logistics and atmosphere in a way that felt authentic to the team.
