Nature, focus, and meaningful connection, the Catalan countryside became the ideal setting for a leadership offsite centered on communication.
Overview
Losberger De Boer is a global provider of high quality modular structures for events, sports, and business environments. Their 17 person leadership team wanted to step away from daily routines and dedicate quality time to a key challenge, strengthening internal communication between departments. They envisioned an offsite in a natural, distraction free environment that would allow space for alignment, teamwork, and genuine connection.
The Offsite
The team chose a traditional masía on the outskirts of Barcelona for a one night retreat designed to balance focused work with shared experiences. The offsite began with an alignment session that set the tone for open communication and collective purpose.
We then facilitated a participatory team dynamic centered on effective communication. Participants had to coordinate in increasingly complex sequences to pass objects across the group. The exercise sparked laughter, collaboration, and tangible insights into clarity, active listening, and the importance of well defined roles within a team.
To close the day, we curated a themed Mexican dinner followed by a cocktail workshop. The relaxed setting encouraged spontaneous conversations between areas that rarely interact, creating new connections and strengthening cross departmental relationships.
The following morning combined an additional working session with restorative activities. A guided yoga class and a nature walk helped consolidate the learnings from the previous day and gave the team space to reset before returning to their daily responsibilities.
The retreat was highly valued by the entire group. They successfully broke down silos, improved communication dynamics, and created shared moments that reinforced cohesion across the leadership team.
